Functional training
In our functional training area you can find a monkey bar, lifting bars, a rotating ring, jump boxes, battle ropes, a punching bag, air bike, SkiErg, TRX, rings, weight vests, ab straps, kettlebells, and training resistance bands. In this area, guided HYROX sessions and coaching are also held.
HYROX originates from Germany and is a relatively new hybrid sport in Finland, combining functional strength training with endurance training. In HYROX, participants alternate between various exercises, familiar to many fitness enthusiasts, combined with running or other cardio workouts. The movements are simple and are done according to one's own fitness and stamina. In guided classes, the heart rate goes up and the body is used in versatile ways. HYROX challenges the body, mind, strength, and endurance. Everyone can participate at their own level and be pleasantly surprised!
The focus of the training can be either work capacity, endurance, strength, or a combination of these. One training session lasts 20-60 minutes. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), combined with functional training, strength, and endurance exercises, is the most effective method for the comprehensive development of a HYROX enthusiast. HYROX has aimed to lower the entry barrier as much as possible, making it appealing to regular fitness enthusiasts. This is why the sport has exploded in popularity and is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years.
